Google Update September/October 2012

Google have done another update. At the end of September or start of October some of you might have noticed there was a dip in rankings for a number of websites. The latest Google Update has targeted websites which use EMD’s or ( Exact Match Domains ) which has poor quality content and no real effort put into it.

For years many people who had a keyword rich domain would rank very high without doing any real SEO. Over the years there have been rumours that Google were going to deal with this type of thing as there are a lot of poor quality websites that sit in top positions simply because they owned the domain name.

Well Matt Cutts confirmed on Friday 28th of September 2012 that Google will be doing another update which will affect some of your rankings and already we have had a lot of people contacting us to try to help them reverse the decline they find their websites in. It was clarified that this Google Update is unrelated to Penguin, Panda or any other update that has happened in the past. There has been a lot of people affected and will no doubt have to up their game if they want to do well on the search engines. You will have to provide unique content and carry out SEO properly to get good results on the search engines now which may seem harsh on people, but not everyone can own an EMD and has to spend money on getting someone to rank their website.
